A little about me…I started my apprenticeship in 2008, and over the three years of training I spent time learning from various industry leaders and educators. I also worked across 3 salons in Brisbane.
To celebrate the end of my training, I traveled overseas to Argentina and I was lucky to learn from Bruno Salas, and spend time in his amazing salon. This is where I decided to eventually create my own salon and I came up with my own salon name, Mariposa Designs. (because I love Butterflies) After this amazing experience, I worked in 2 fantastic salons, one large bustling salon, and one small suburban salon. I learned a lot from both.
In 2014 I became the owner of Subets, which has many fond memories from when I was a child watching my mum, and many other ladies, having their hair done by Susanne and her team(the original owners of Subets). I loved being in Wynnum and operating my own commercial salon. But after 5 years, I decided that a big salon wasn’t what I desired. I wanted something more personal and home based. So I made the tough decision that at the end of a 50 year history I would close Subets and moved my business to my home in 2019.
I still have my strong support local and be sustainable values, which is why I continue to be partnered with CRP Hair. I carry the full range of CPR home maintenance products to keep your hair salon quality at home. CPR is an Australian family owned company, that shares many of my own hair values, and style.
I am also still continuing the ever popular Lisse Keratin Smoothing Therapy, that repairs and smooths your hair, eliminating frizz! Which is great for the SEQ humidity.
In 2022 I became a mum, and working from home is providing a great balance, and allowing me to be in the salon more. This will mean you can hear the patter of feet from upstairs and the occasional giggles and a visit or two.
Looking ahead to the future, I am looking to expanding my clientele, and create a safe comfortable salon, where everyone can feel free to express their individuality and style. As well as continuing to maintain a safe, low stimulus environment for ASD and other sensory sensitive clients.
I look forward to bringing you my best and hope that you continue to enjoy your time at my salon. And now you have heard about me, I am looking forward to hearing about and getting to know you 🙂
